OUTPATIENT THERAPY

  • Children’s Therapist
    (Louisville-2), (Starkville)

Master’s degree in behavioral science required.  Current licensure/certification required or ability to obtain. Perform individual, group, family and day treatment services with children/adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral disorders.  Similar experience preferred.

 

CASE MANAGEMENT

  • Community Support Specialist
    (Louisville)

Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science required. Perform linkage to community resources for children with serious emotional disturbance and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Similar experience preferred.

 

SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT

  • Employment Specialist
    (Starkville)

Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science required. Develops a plan for community awareness and support of employment services/activities for individuals with Serious Mental Illness. Distributes information and communicates with potential referral sources. Accepts/coordinates referrals to the SE program and screens participants. Obtains interests, desires, and goals of individual regarding his/her desire to work. Identifies integrated, competitive jobs that meet goals of the individual. Provides support services to increase independence and community integration for individuals enrolled in the SE program. Previous experience with Vocational Rehabilitation and/or Supported Employment setting preferred. Ability to obtain CESP certification. 

 

DAY TREATMENT

  • Day Treatment Assistant 
    (Starkville-PT), (Starkville-FT), (Louisville-PT)

H. S. diploma required. Assist with program activities for children and adolescents with serious emotional/ behavioral disorders. Similar experience preferred. Eligible to be covered under our insurance to drive a company vehicle for client transportation.

 

PINES & CADY HILL

  • Relief Care Worker (PACH)
    (Columbus- 1 PT)

H. S. diploma required.  Provide monitoring and supervision to male residents with substance abuse issues in a residential setting. Evening and weekend work required. Similar experience preferred. Eligible to be covered under our insurance to drive a company vehicle for client transportation.

 

ADOLESCENT – IOP

  • IOP Therapist
    (Columbus)

Master’s degree in a behavioral science required. Current licensure/certification required or ability to obtain. Provide individual, family, and group counseling to chemically dependent adolescents in Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Some evening work required.  Previous experience in an A&D setting and with adolescents strongly preferred.

 

PREVENTION SERVICES

  • Prevention Specialist - Block Grant
    (Columbus)

Bachelor’s degree required. Public speaking/presentation experience. Coordinates services with other community agencies/school systems to implement programs aimed at substantially preventing alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse through prevention services. Conducts research in order to match intervention strategies to meet specific needs using evidenced-based models. Documents all prevention activities using DMH designated Internet-based tool.  Some evening and weekend work required. Willing to pursue prevention certification and travel for required training.  

 

GTR SYSTEM OF CARE

  • Transitional Advisor – II
    (Starkville), (West Point)

Master’s degree in a behavioral science required. Current licensure/certification required or ability to obtain. Perform individual, group, and family counseling with transitional age youth focusing on the strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences of the youth and family. Provide targeted case management and community support services to individuals participating in the TOP/SOC Project. Provide clinical support to individual youth and families, actively collaborate with other systems of care, and conduct home visits. Previous experience in a mental health setting strongly preferred.

Practicum/Internship Requirements

Community Counseling Services (CCS) works closely with several Universities (i.e., MSU, MUW, Ole Miss) and a variety of departments (i.e., Psychology, Counselor Education, Family & Human Studies, Social Work) in an effort to offer students field placements as they pursue careers in the mental health field. CCS has a designated number of practicum/internship placements that we will accommodate each semester. In order to be considered for a practicum/internship placement, students must be able to validate that they are enrolled and receiving course credit as part of their program of study and be required to complete a minimum of 100 hours during their placement.

  • Current resume that outlines relevant work/volunteer experience, as well as, relevant course work completed to date
  • Cover letter that summarizes practicum/intern requirements (hours required, supervision requirements, etc.) and highlights particular areas of interest

For those students that we are interested in considering for a possible placement and slots remain, the HR Department will contact the student to set up a time for a pre-placement interview.  Please note that ALL practicum/internship requests are processed through the HR department for ANY CCS program or location. Placements are also contingent upon the successful completion of the background check process.
